How do you deal with conflict and stress in church life and ministry? How can you grow and flourish under pressure rather than be overwhelmed by it? How do you keep going in the face of disapproval from the wider world?
Resilience in ministry is the focus of our three-day annual Summer Intensive for pastors and teachers. We will be exploring a wide range of pressure points in ministry today, including:
Crises and emotional traumas in church life
Disagreements and clashes in leadership teams
The 'normal' pressure of providing pastoral care and biblical teaching for congregations
The inner pressure of living a life of holiness while in ministry
The danger of being overwhelmed with too many tasks
Conflict with the wider world in a culture which is becoming more hostile to the gospel
Exploring the questions and offering positive resources for the three days of the intensive are Mark Pickles, Kirsty Birkett, Richard Garnett and Lynne Wilson. Follow the links on the right to read how they see the issues relating to resilient leadership today. The programme will include a mix of teaching, workshops and Q&A sessions.
