David Shaw, BA, MTh
Tutor in New Testament and Greek
While a student at Oak Hill himself from 2011-14, David became convinced of the value of theological training that equips students to be carefully attentive to God's word and then to apply it in faithful and adaptable ways to the life of the church and the world.
Having spent three years in Cambridge working on a PhD in New Testament studies he is excited to be back, exploring the value of Greek for attentive listening to God's word and the ways in which the New Testament itself models the faithful and adaptable proclamation of the gospel.
Alongside his work for Oak Hill (three days a week) he serves two days a week as the Theological Adviser of FIEC (the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches).
While in Cambridge, David was an elder at Grace Church Cambridge and has previously worked for City Church, Birmingham. He has published articles in the Journal for the Study of the New Testament, Currents in Biblical Research, Themelios, and Churchman.
David is married to Jo and they have four children. He spends Saturday mornings trying to perfect the breakfast pancake.
